Alpharithm Assets, a subsidiary of Berg Companies Group, is a quantitative technology firm redefining how institutional capital interacts with markets. Founded by Mr. Avis Berg, CFP, a Harvard-trained investment executive and former Vice President at J.P. Our Founder
Mr. Avis Berg, CFP – Founder & Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Berg has spent over seventeen years in investment management, corporate finance, and strategic advisory, directing and executing more than $2 billion in total deal volume, including $311 million in executed equity transactions and numerous portfolio acquisitions and sales.
Before launching Alpharithm, he managed high-net-worth and institutional portfolios at Wells Fargo Advisors and later at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he was promoted to Vice President of the Houston Market and grew assets under management from approximately $250 million to $358 million within a year through tactical allocation and market restructuring.
In 2015, he founded Berg Capital and later Berg Companies Group, leading more than $305 million in transactions spanning commercial real estate, private equity, and structured finance. Among his notable achievements was executing an equity stake in a $250 million oil and gas company and leading a $90 million equity buyout for its partners and shareholders.
Mr. Berg holds dual Masters degrees in Management, Finance, and Strategic Management from Harvard University, the Certified Financial Planner designation from Rice University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Economics from Houston Baptist University. His work has been featured in U.S. News, Yahoo Finance, MSN Money, CNBC, and Digital Journal, where he was interviewed for developing a legal strategy that reshaped risk management and investor protections across his firms.
